Ontario HVAC & heat pump rebates available in 2026
Delivered by Enbridge Gas + Save on Energy (IESO). Launched January 28, 2025 and running through November 30, 2026.* The exact amount depends on your home’s heating source and the size of the system installed.
Up to $7,500
Cold-climate air-source heat pump
For homes heated by electricity, oil, propane, or wood. Calculated at about $1,250 per ton of capacity. The unit must be on Natural Resources Canada's qualified products list.
Up to $12,000
Geothermal (ground-source) heat pump
The single largest rebate in the program. For electric, oil, propane, or wood-heated homes the amount is calculated per ton; gas-heated homes receive a flat amount.
Up to $2,000
Heat pump for gas-heated homes
For Enbridge natural-gas-heated homes adding a cold-climate air-source heat pump, calculated at roughly $500 per ton of capacity.

For a qualifying heat-pump (hybrid) water heater — a high-efficiency upgrade from a conventional tank, and one you own outright.

Enbridge Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+)
Closed to new applicants — February 5, 2024The standalone Enbridge HER+ rebate was folded into the Home Renovation Savings Program. There's no separate HER+ cheque for the same work anymore.
Canada Greener Homes Grant
ClosedThe federal grant is no longer accepting applications. It's the program most people still ask for by name — in Ontario it has effectively been replaced by the HRS for most retrofits.
