There are so many options on the market when it comes to thermostats. Wi-fi is definitely recommended as it gives you remote control of the temperatures and air quality in your home. Some wi-fi stats (ie. Trane XL850) are ‘Communicating’; meaning that they can provide data to your hvac contractor in the event of a plugged filter, equipment breakdown or service issue. These Communicating controls also match perfectly with like-branded equipment – maximizing comfort and efficiency for you and your family. Be mindful of buying a fancy new thermostat – many have AI (artificial intelligence) that try to cut-down on equipment runtimes. This can be good – but in many instances, this functionality creates discomfort in the home and puts unnecessary strain on heating and cooling equipment. Make sure you have enough wires to run the new thermostat you install – but – ideally – call us and we can set you up with the best control for your home!
